SBIR-STTR information sessions in Southern Utah this week

Mary Cardon of the SBIR-STTR Assistance Center (SSAC) in Sandy, UT is visiting Southern Utah Sept. 9 – 10 to educate local companies and entrepreneurs about opportunities to apply for these federal grants.

Cardon will present to the Southern Utah Technical Council at 12:00 noon on Thursday. The location is 77 North Main St, Cedar City.

Friday at 12:00 noon, she is presenting at Dixie Tech Friday, 1526 Medical Center Drive, St. George.

She is also available to meet with a limited number of parties on a one-on-one basis. Contact USTAR Southern Utah regional technology outreach director Jill Elliss at jelliss@utah.gov for more information.

SSAC is located at Salt Lake Community College – Miller Campus and is the State’s Small Business source for information and assistance with SBIR and STTR grant location, prepartion and submission.

Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Science Technology Transfer (STTR) federal grant programs offer non-equity position, competitive grants for just this purpose. There may be $150,000 to $1,000,000 available to help you bring your technology to reality or the next generation.

Through the SBIR/STTR Assistance Center, qualified businesses can gain assistance with all elements of the SBIR-STTR process to including:

  • Searching and matching your concept with agency solicitations
  • Pre-registering with Grants.gov and agencies
  • Editing and writing assistance
  • Submission
  • Training opportunities on how to find agency solicitation as well as tricks and nuances to winning SBIR-STTR proposals
